Old Glory, Riverside, CA

When our mother was in the hospital in 2009,
Uncle Joe and I would walk to Old Glory for
a reprieve.

It would be impossible for me to walk from
the hospital to Old Glory these 6 years later.
My body, but not my mind, has changed
so much.  Still those memories are alive
and I still like to visit.

Something for everyone who adores
vintage.

Mirror or frame hanging from
ribbon.

Light filtered through glass.

Garden art.

Inspiration at every turn.

Window shopping.

Scary Dutch people.

Marrying Your Best Friend

Sometimes our light goes out but is blown
into flame by another human being.
Each of us has cause to think with
deep gratitude of those who rekindle
the light within us.

                                        Albert Schweitzer

This is one of my favorites.  Mr. Lee and I hand lettered
this quote on our Save the Date invitations for our wedding.

.

We highly recommend marriage to your best friend.

Share your bliss with  extended family and friends.

Seek shared experiences.

Collect memories and things you treasure.

Sheros

Mary Randolph Carter, oh how I have loved you from a far.
Authentic, family, and a love affair with her husband.
As she speaks of her mother her voice catches,
ahhh, my eyes well with my own understanding.
Click on the link under her name and see for yourself.

There are times when the contents of
Pumpkin Cottage overwhelm visitors.
But for me it brings inspiration, my mind bounces, and
creativity blooms.

If you watch the video, look for a Shari Elf  portrait.
We've gone to visit Shari's World Famous
Crochet Museum, then to celebrate with music
and art at the Art Queen.
Shari is genuine and lovely.

Carter's latest book, Never Stop to Think
Do I Have a Place for This?

If you stripped my rooms, tabletops, walls and floors
of all the things I have yearned for and collected
over the last fifty years, and left just the thing that were
required to survive, I am quite sure I would shrivel up and
die.

Kindred spirits always find each other.

Love my weekends

Our weekends have become even more precious since
I don't participate in a alternative schedule. For over 10 years,
I could eagerly looked forward to alternating Fridays off.

What could be better than a alternative schedule?
An environment where I feel appreciated.
The anxiety level is significantly diminished.
Check.

Let's talk about the fun planned for today.
