Vintage Easter

A blessed Easter to you and yours.

Every holiday seems to take me back to my childhood.
To my siblings, my mother's cooking and holiday traditions.

Our day started at the farmers' market.

Yo Yo Tree Tote Design

Inspiration for this weekend.   I have all the necessary materials.
Will embellish my existing green tote.  Can't wait to share my vision.

We will be painting thrift treasures, too. Lots of craftiness to look forward to.

Jesus Visits

Mr. Lee drives down the road.
My mother's rosary falls from the rear view mirror.

I say, "It broken?"
Mr. Lee: "Probably."

I retrieve the rosary but it's not broken.
It's a signal.

We drive on.
At the next red light, a lady signals me to roll
down my window.
She hands me a $5 dollar and asks me to pass it
to the guy with a cardboard sign.

Mr. Lee hands the bill to the man.
Mr. Lee says, "It's not from us it is from the ladies in the
car next to us."

The lady says, "Say it is from Jesus."

The man, without hearing the lady,
says, "God bless you."

He is among us.

Ceramic Joy

A few weeks ago, without a plan, we stumbled into
a ceramic store.

Wild eyed with excitement we picked our
items and paint colors.  I highly recommend this
little adventure for the crafty family.

It is a bit pricey, but the memories and giggles are
well worth the splurge.

The colors will be vibrant after firing.

Have a lovely day my dear readers.

Road trip Wonder

It was a whirlwind road trip.
Mr. Lee says I am always trying to make everyone happy.

Guilty as charged.
There were so many things we wanted to accomplish.
Top of the list was visiting the cemetery.

Nothing fancy but oh the day was beautiful.
The kids are so accustomed to visiting.
For urban kids, running free is exhilarating feel.

Nothing scary, only beauty.

Variety of Thrifting Treasures

Good as gold.
Rose gold is the height of fashion, again.
Love it.  Portuguese gold is rose gold.
Rich in tradition.  Looks vintage.

Growing up my mom's jeweler was
Fortudo Imports in San Jose.

A majority of Portuguese couples still
sport wide rose gold wedding bands.
The groom's ring is engraved with his bride's
initials or full name and the wedding date.
Not a bad idea ladies.
The bride's ring is engraved with her groom's
name and the wedding date.

What we are watching.

Dance your Heartout

When Joe and I were kids we would dance together with the Lawrence Welk Show
in the background.

In the 80s we'd disco until our hearts pounded.

Good times.

Choose to See the Heart

God told Samuel, "Looks aren't everything.
Don't be impressed with his looks and stature.
I've already eliminated him.
God judges humans differently than humans do.
Men and women look at the face;
God looks into the heart."  I Samuel 16:7 MSG

I know this to be true, children
see my heart and not my affliction.
Children aren't scared to talk, look or cuddle
me.
