Stenciling

During our Easter vacation week, I finally stenciled our kitchen wall. My back made it hard to stand on the ladder for too long....but where there is a will there is a way..
I wanted to have these sweet words up on the wall where I could see them every day.

"Now in a cottage built of lilacs and laughter I know the meaning of the words ever-after." Polka Dots and Moonbeams... So true.

Apron Memories

I received a email from EllynAnne Geisel the apron lady. Okay, I don't know about you but aprons remind me of the best memories. My mother wore an apron every day to cook, to do laundry, to wash the dishes, and to cook. Aprons are like a big protective hug. My aprons hang in my cookbook closet, yes I have a cookbook closet. Jacob and Holly have their own aprons for crafting.

Check out EllynAnne's great give away at http://apronmemories.blogspot.com/2009/03/fabulous-not-contest-giveaway.html and celebrate National Apron Day... http://www.nationalapronday.com/

More pictures to follow. I am going to find a picture of my mother in an apron. Small blessings.

vacation

Tell me. What could possibly be better than vacation, a road trip, crafting, and Easter dinner... all in one jam packed week?

Our Easter tradition includes crafting. Pretty much every holiday includes crafts. But Easter is special because we make spring crafts and each year our Easter display grows.

Everyone pitched in and made Alicia Paulson's birds. Check http://www.rosylittlethings.com/ to see her amazing bird kit. Mark, Lee and I created the birds. I helped Jacob, Joe, and Lee decorate the birds. Our new "pets" aren't done. Coming soon.

On the road again

The get-along-gang is on the road. We are in a rhythm now. It is strange not having VoVo with us but we can move along a lot faster...small comfort.

We hit the road yesterday after seeing VoVo. Here are some of our photos.
First stop in Phx. It is all about cute shops, yummy food, gardens, crafts and thrift.

Laugh Often

My friends tell me they like to be around me because I am always laughing. I laugh because life is hard and you have to keep a sense of humor. I grew up in a beautiful place and set long deep roots. My longest friendship started at the age of four. It is such a blessing to have a friend for such a long time. I don't have to explain anything. She lived it with me or heard about it.
Chrisy is the baby her family just like me. We made the leis out of my neighbor's daisy patch.

Donna (Chrisy's sister), Chrisy, Joe and me.

My friendship with Chrisy has survived the thick and thin of life. Truly we survived junior high , that is what middle school was called back in the day, together. We have survived so very much. Chrisy's husband Patrick is having surgery this week. We adore Patrick. and pray for his speedy recovery.
