Chronic Fatigue

My heating pad blanket is wrapped
around my shoulders.
My body is an open ache.
Damning attention, hampering
focus, and impeding my joyful

Right now I am negotiating how
long I will allow myself to stay in bed.
Strategically placing the heat down
the right side of my body.

I have plans this morning, so I have to get up,
and get out of the house.  On work days,
I just go, no thought just get up and get
out.  But on days off, I want to be
kind and considerate of my limitations.

Mr. Lee left me a thermos of
black coffee. A treat during my contemplation.

To feel content in all circumstances.
See how the child snuggles into
a safe place.

When I can't tolerate the pain,
I pray, as my mother taught me.
Prayer is a lullaby more powerful
than any drug.

John 10:9
I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved.
They will come in and go out, and find pasture. NIV

Pasture, a place of rest.

Last Thursday, just before another road trip, Mabel's

us she was our ship to adventure.

We are not going to look back but forward.

Introducing Maybelline.
The Get Along heading north to the San Francisco
Bay Area.

On Being a Late Bloomer

Truth be told.
I am a very late bloomer.
I wish someone had told me
you can make a living in
unconventional ways-and most
importantly-its okay.

 Frank Sinatra That's Life

I wish I'd stuck with
waiting tables, one of my favorite jobs,
maybe Monday to Friday with
weekends off.  It wouldn't
have been a long career because
my body failed me.

Trusting my art.
Teaching the at-risk
teenagers, I still love.

In my head, a reoccurring
theme developed.  You require
insurance and a safety net.
Plus the pang to have children

Who I was at 15 is who
I am today.  My life  is
composed of a collection of
the same things.
Jesus, saints, the holy ghost,
pumpkins, kale, a pink kitchen,
Birkenstock, embroidery (I like my grandmother's
embroidery, thank you), cross stitch,
canvas bags,
hanging clothes on the line,
gardening, granny crafts (way
before there was granny chic),
second hand (vintage),

comfort food, terracotta pots

The only thing different
is all the things defining

Seed 2015: One Little Word

The love of gardening
is a seed once sown that
never dies.

          Gertrude Jekyll

One Little Word  with Ali Edwards

Every thing I read, the music I select, and what I see is all
through my 2015 word: seed.
