Day Trip to Orange, California

For nearly 30 years,  I have had a love affair with the
City of Orange's downtown and roundabout.
"The Circle" with a fountain in its center.
Antiques galore, including my fav, County Roads.

Yummy food for every taste.

My first job in Southern California was located in Orange
and there is where my love affair began.

No Anxiety Sunday

aghhh.  The pain we put ourselves through.
Sundays used to fill my body with knots.
Unhappy butterflies.
No more.  I look forward to a job.

Nothing pleases me more than a cup of coffee/tea,
an old movie, embroidery with lots of color with
kid laughter in the background.

Searching for treasure pleases me, too.

The back of a cotton ball and q-tip holder.

The front.  Vintage colors.  I am not a fan of
the goose or ducks (unless they are real) but
I adore the vintage colors.

I crawled under a table to get this picture.
Thank goodness for Mr. Candycane and his
assistance to get me up.

Golden delicious apple.

Who stole the cookie jar?  Who me?  Couldn't be.
Joe stole the cookie from the cookie jar.
Do you recall that little classroom favorite?

My photos are a bit shaky from walking up so
many stairs.

Chalkware squirrel.

I like the idea of collecting items with
cross stitch or embroidery patterns.

Paint with crewel work.  See the cottage and the swirls outlined
in black.  LOVE it.

Happy Sunday.

Keeping Love Alive..Marriage Wednesday

Visit Country Roads

The alarm goes off at 4:15 a.m. weekday mornings.  Mr. Lee
looked right into my eyes this morning and said, "You are so
into me."  Matter of fact it is true. Every day I love him MORE.
You know how you look at your babies when they sleep?
Some times he watches me and other times I watch him.
It is the same unconditional love.

Is it perfect every day, well of course not.  Not every day but
most days.  Two strong personalities, intertwined make us
better some how.

Mr. Lee's mom,  happily married over 50 years, says it doesn't even
get really good until after 20 years and she should know.

The foundation has to be there...marriage doesn't get better on its
own.  You must pick carefully,  I can never say this enough.
You must be equally yoked, you must love unconditionally,
and you must maintain passion for each other.  The kind of
passion that sustains life long friendships.  In marriage, as
in friendship, you are better because you have shared experiences.
Shared interests.

Here's the kicker you can't give up..and if you have picked well
you will never want to give up.  Forsaking all others is easy because
you only have eyes for your mate.

You bet Mr. Lee, I am really into you.
Thank you for continuing to make my roses
bloom.

Putting First Things First

One of my favorite shops in Old Town Tustin burned to the ground in December.  The Vintage Lady was simply grand with a fairy garden in the back.  When I visited it always felt like I belonged.
Grander still is Cathy, the owner, who has moved to Country Roads in Orange.

There in a lesson on having the spirit and going on.

Courage isn't having the strength to go on it's going on when you don't have the strength.
Gal 6:9

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Matthew 6:33

If I have achieved anything in my life it is because I have not been embarrassed to talk
about God.

A Visit to Mrs. Darling

We finally visited Mrs. Darling's on Sunday.

Simply adorable and welcoming. Mrs. Darling is so sweet. The kids were stumbling all over themselves for the opportunity to tell their story.  We can not wait to visit again, soon.

And then......
