The Everyday of the Joy

Be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead.
                                                        1 Peter 1:6

If you are observant, there is joy in the every day.
 Holly decorated this cake.

The plate is thrift loot found at the Ventura Goodwill.
For under a dollar it provides a reminder of 70s earthiness.

Rosaries: The Hunt

"The LORD is my strength and my defense;
he has become my salvation. He is my God,
and I will praise him, my father's God,
and I will exalt him.

 Exodus 15:2

On the hunt for rosaries.
Making a beeline to the jewelry section for rosaries.

I don't want to pay a lot and they don't
have to be fancy or metal.  Can't wait
to share what we find.

Top of the Morning to You

May green be the grass you walk on,
May blue be the skies above you,
May pure be the joys that surround you,
May true be the hearts that love you.

                                   Irish Blessing

Luck of the Irish, green.
A dream car, vintage BMW 2002.

I look good in green or red.

Extra luggage for loot.

Mr. Lee says I have all the dishes ever made.  A slight exaggeration,
but with the slide of the hand I am trying, note the rose tea
plate (4) came home with us.  I love you, Mr. Lee.

All the credit for packing goes to the Mister.

Happy Monday, make it a great week.

Seattle: Loot that Got Way

To relax we thrift.  Thrifting requires letting go.
No expectations, nothing specific just a developed eye
and the satisfication of the thrill of the hunt.

This poster didn't come home with us
but the photo reminded me to look up the
Skagit Tulip Festival.

Some other treasures that got away...a little mariachi band.

A bit of handiwork.

A tortoise and the hare.

Uncle Joe, Mr. Lee and I have well trained eyes.
Years and years of scan, scan, to pin point treasures
among chaos.

It may be the color, shape or something specific
catching and keeping our attention long enough
to separate us from our hard earned cash.

Thrifting for Treasures

 Mirror mirror on the wall.

Transform thy self.
Once and for all.

This is where Mr. Lee, without gloves or safety glasses,
cut himself.
Always, my dear readers,
wear proper safety equipment.

With a little help from our friends.
Garage and side door open for proper ventilation.

Gorgeous.

Montana spray paint available at Aaron Brothers.
Love Aaron Brothers. Go to their link above just click.
Sign up for coupons and special events. The get-along-gang
highly recommend AR featured art product lines.

Simply divine for REAL artists and just crafters like moi.

Last night, the children and I watched,
Diana Vreeland's The Eye has to Travel.

We were mesmerized.
Completely and utterly captivated.
Glued to our seats.
Not even one request for a pause to go potty.

I woke at 2:00 a.m. to watch  it again.
Highly recommended it for anyone fascinated
by genius, fashion, art or business.

Mrs. Vreeland kept saying she was simply "mad" about this and that.
Can you imagine being mad about anything?
What a love affair.
Mrs. Vreeland had it at home with her beautiful husband and
in her work.

She simply described her relationship with her mother as unsympathetic.
You will have to watch it for yourself to learn more.

A fascinating life.

Loot from Joe's Birthday Weekend

To celebrate Joe's birthday we
went hunting for treasures.

Thrift treasure that is.

Joe's selection.  Hanging in our hotel room.

Can't resist little Dutch girls.

Or tiny windmills.  Honest, any windmill.

Vintage sheets.

Butterfly jean jacket for Holly.
