Seattle: Loot that Got Way

To relax we thrift.  Thrifting requires letting go.
No expectations, nothing specific just a developed eye
and the satisfication of the thrill of the hunt.

This poster didn't come home with us
but the photo reminded me to look up the
Skagit Tulip Festival.

Some other treasures that got away...a little mariachi band.

A bit of handiwork.

A tortoise and the hare.

Uncle Joe, Mr. Lee and I have well trained eyes.
Years and years of scan, scan, to pin point treasures
among chaos.

It may be the color, shape or something specific
catching and keeping our attention long enough
to separate us from our hard earned cash.

  1. Isn't there a little town outside of Seattle that has a bunch of antique stores. Is Snomish or something like that. The last time I've been to Seattle was when my kids were about the same age as yours are now!

    Take care,
    Sue

    1. Darling Sue,
The last time I had been in Seattle, my number 2 son was still in the making. I was about 3 months pregnant. No. 2 is nowa 23 years old soldier and serving in the US Army in Seattle. Time flies, No. 3 son and No. 4 daughter didn't travel with us during this most recent visit. Snohomish, WA www.historicdowntownsnohomish.org/antiques, even more reason to return with the little ones. We never regret the traveling or the memories we are building together.
Each of my kids has experienced the adventure of Country Roads which is always a bit of magic.
      xxxooo love, e

I have learned a lot over the years about not buying every bit of "treasure" my eyes love!!!
It can be challenging though :-)
