Planting the Seeds

Ask yourself , "How long am I going
to work to make my dreams come true?'
I suggest you answer, "As long as it
takes."

Anniversary

There are two ways of spreading light;
to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.

  ~Edith Wharton

Mr. Lee and I recently celebrated our
wedding anniversary.  It's such a special
day for us.

Perfectly placed as a gate way to our favorite
seasons:  the fall and winter.

Time tick ticking away.

Holly took this picture of us nearly two years
ago.  Pumpkins Pumpkins. See her little shadow.

Lost it on the Neighbors

It takes a lot for me to blow.
A lot lot.
I'm the type that doesn't think of anything
witty to say
until weeks later.

This evening, I couldn't drive into my happy
garage, so happy to be home garage, because
for the umpteenth time the neighbor
had parked behind our garage to
"unload."

I waited to see if he was really unloading.
Nothing, nada, nada.
Another car enters the queue.
We live in the middle of a dead end
alley.

Something inside of me SNAPS.
I start honking like a mad woman.
Insanity possesses me.

He comes out and moves past me.
I back up and pull into the garage.
But this time I am not going to
to let it go.

My gippy tired body flies
out of the van.
Cussing like a sailor on leave.
So angry, so tired, so so tired
of people who park in
the clearly marked fire lane.

In front of everyone I clearly
lose all decorum.
Neighbors pour out of their homes.
Watching the little, obviously deranged,
pumpkin woman lose it.

Yeah, I don't know how
we are going to find
world peace either.

Pumpkin Patch

An Autumn tradition.

Nothing closer to my heart than searching a pumpkin patch
for the perfect pumpkin.  It's how I grew up.
Hopefully, we are planting the
same seeds with our children.

Glorious Autumn

A visit to Peltzer Farms in Temecula.

It was a simply glorious day.
We live in Pumpkin Cottage surrounded by
reminders of the season all year.
Nothing compares to the real thing.

Here I am trying to convince Jacob to find a pumpkin with
a nice stem.  This year we will save the stems for crafting
everlasting pumpkins.  Stems from small pumpkins are the best.

Holly almost jumped out of her skin waiting to ride this pony.
The big surprise was Jacob wanted to participate, too.

Happy Friday

My mother used to hang wash on the clothesline.
It always smelled to fresh and felt crisp.
My favorites were the towels and sheets.

Today, is my first day of unemployment.
I start a new job adventure on Wednesday.
A few glorious days to prepare.
Clean my disheveled home, work on homework,
read, watch an old movie, and craft.
Possibility all at the same time.

Dreaming of pumpkins

My mind in wandering to falling leaves.
Cool evenings.
Pumpkin themed crafts.

Next project:

A  bit of linen or burlap,
lots of orange buttons, and an old fashioned
button mosaic pumpkin.

Brother, Joe, be on the look out for orange buttons.

The kids and I have already gone through
all the button stashes here at home.

Button mosaic here.

This is where my imagination is leaning.
