Get Breakfast in Old Orcutt, Calfornia

Old Town Orcutt, seriously make time for
a visit to this charming town and have
breakfast at Kay's Country Kitchen.

Yep that is Mr. Lee's thumb.

And that is bliss on my face. Family, food, and
a long weekend. Mercy, so so much gratitude.

Jacob studying, he studies everything.

Food Food Food. Jacob couldn't wait
for the photo... Eggs Benedict.

Honestly, I am not a huge meat eater,
but this tri-tip, Santa Maria style, was
the best I've tasted it was like butter.

Ideas.

See that window frame?  Feeling
a DIY project coming on, oh yeah.
The Get Along will be back.
More on Orcutt, tomorrow.

Quilts and a Garden, Oh My

Quilts in the Oaks, Alden Lane Nursery, Livermore, California.
This nursery is a beautiful destination nursery on its own but
dress it up with quilts and you really have something special.

Freddy Moran quilter extraordinaire.  Isn't she
beautiful?  Meeting her made me so happy.

Finding Your Bliss

Will we only find our bliss after our passing?
Or could we, while we are living, work on
being blissful.  Letting go of hurt both
ancient and new.  Finding our calling.

Refuse to be an accomplice.  Don't
lie-don't keep your eyes shut.
                            Simone Weil

What would you choose to do,
even if you didn't get paid for it?

My bliss is in conversation, listening
and giving away of opinions.
Sharing of hard earned lessons.

Part of our road trip bliss is the hunt
for treasures: tangible, tasty, or visual.
Sibling time.
Mid-century vignettes brought to you
by  Midway Mall in Sacramento.                      .

Seriously, the get-along-gang spent
hours in this place, drooling.
Quality furnishing from another era.
Meticulously preserved.

French General: Jenny Hart

Oh my.

Have I shared how much I love visiting
French General in Los Angeles?
Not only is it a charming creative place,
run by the lovely Meng sisters,
peppered with visits by
their beautiful mother, but it is a
place to mingle, craft with
liked minded individuals, and
creatives.

Last Saturday, I had the pleasure
of attending a workshop with Jenny
Hart from Sublime Stitching.

My favorite color is green....Le Vert.  Every shade and hue.
from light to dark.  I love spring with all the greens showcased
on our surrounding hills and fields.

The best part of attending a class in getting
inside information on other crafts and
creatives, the tips your get from the instructor,
and the recharge to create.

Swoon, dear hearts.

French General is listed on the
side bar under Favorite Places
to Visit.

Visiting Scottsdale and Phoenix, Arizona

The call of a junk show.
We travel near or far for the love
of vintage junk.
Sunrise, two hours sitting on the 10 East due to
a hazardous waste accident.

People are like stained-glass windows.
They sparkle and shine when the sun is out,
but when the darkness set in, their true beauty
is revealed only if there is a light from within.
