Issue 13 of Mollie Makes and June's issue of
Romantic Homes.  Happy happy joy joy.

The clerk at the Barnes and Noble commented
on the superior quality of British magazines.
Craft magazines, music magazines probably all magazines.
Don't even get me started on the Japanese mags.
Pure loveliness and inspiration for those of us
with hoppity skippity brains.
Notice the Vintage Buttons gift on Mollie...how
can anyone resist?  It is like a box of
Cracker Jack with the diamond ring prize glued
to the outside of the box.
We both agreed that there is tremendous talent
in the States.  Why oh why can't we lead the
world in creativity?  Obviously we could but
we don't.

Miss Holly has already requested a cocoa brown
pup.

The City.  San Francisco.  Inspired to visit from here.
Music for your visit. Sadly, not Journey but a good substitute.

Yes, I write in my magazines, in my textbooks and
in any book that strikes my fancy. Kirk, my train friend
and doctoral candidate, just panics when he sees me
jotting notes as I read. He's NEVER written in a book.
I say cut loose.  Live dangerously sometimes.
It is a habit I started long ago.
Like my habit of commemorating events in new books.

My Dottie Angel book I wrote:

"April 27, 2012

On the eve of returning to work. Crafting.
Lee put outside lights on to light my path.
What a year. Little e."

In years to come I will recall a specific moment
and feelings.

I use my favorite Creative Memories fine-tip
pens gifted to me by my dear friend Lori.

Lori is one of my girlfriend warriors.  A
guiding force in my darkness.
Being in Lori's presence of unconditional love
is indescribable.  She soothes even the crankiest
babies right to sleep. I digress.

The pens are archive quality and glide over paper.
I am unable to work with scratchy sounding pens.
These write like silk.  Good for journals, scrapbooks,
and photos.

Places to visit in San Francisco.

Hop on over to Amy Powers' site to experience her new magazine.  It is amazing.
Honestly the only thing better would be for me to be able to hold it in my hot little hands and read it on the train.  PLEASE share with everyone you know.

Holidays

In years past, I knew that as soon as we celebrated July 4th the Christmas holiday was right around the corner.  I'd lost touch with this tradition in recent years but want to start slowly rekindling old traditions.  Give myself time for handcrafts and pressure free shopping .  Today we went to visit the Hallmark Keepsake 2010 ornaments.  This was Jacob's favorite was Home for the Holidays and this was Holly's favorite.   It is really fun to look at each ornament with the memories of the past and the promise of the future.  I will warn you it is really hard to leave the store without ornaments.

Don't miss out on Holiday with Matthew Mead  the magazine will not be available in stores so if you are interest buy online.

Other fun happenings at the Pumpkin Cottage....mama help me put pink panther in the princess dress.  YES.

Our garden at the end of the holiday weekend.  Miss Waffle turned sixteen in June.  She's a little gray all over but still a spunky corgi.

La Vie Claire magazine

This is a beautiful magazine and when I missed out on the winter issue that included Susan Branch it just could not be so.   Then I contacted the people at the magazine and I got the nicest response.  REALLY nice like when does that ever happen?  Here is the link in case you wanted to order the single Winter 2010 issue.  Worth every penny but then again magazines are my weakness.

The hunt is on

Where Women Create..... I am on the hunt for the August issue.

We love antique stores, fabric stores, and used book stores. Found this jewel in Long Beach at http://www.oncereadbooks.com/

Beverly Nichols' book Merry Hill.

Yes, I know there isn't a minute to read but I've read the first chapter of three books now...
