Love, it isn't about you

Love is about allowing the cup to
runneth over.
Be vulnerable.
Be open.
Make it about your Valentine.

Through Love

The only thing that counts is faith
expressing itself through love.
                                           Galatians 5:6

A few weeks ago, the Get-Along spent a night
with Oma and Opa on the Queen Mary in Long Beach.
Isn't she a beauty?

This morning Mr. Lee and I were counting our blessings.
Among our blessings are the relationship between our
children and his parents.

There is nothing more precious to us then the love and
time our children spend with their grandparents.
A love so pure and strong.

Wounded Warrior Project

When my friend's husband passed away
she thought of donating his favorite chair
to Wounded Warrior Project.

But then, she offered me the chair.
Saying, I was her wounded warrior.
Not as a veteran but as the sufferer
of chronic painful disease.

Fred was a wounded warrior,
loved his Corps to his dying day.

We honor him daily.

Here we are mama, boy and cat
reclining in Fred's Wounded Warrior chair.

The Light of Jesus

Congratulations, Iris and Kyle
Thank you for allowing me to participate
and bask in your JOY.

Where ever these two roam there will be LAUGHTER, food,
friends and family.

One of my greatest blessing
Is the uniting of people in love
There is such joy in my heart
And warmth, powerful, quenching
I don't feel nervous because I know
Thou art with me
The light of Jesus glows through me

To Be Known and Loved Anyway

We've loved each other for a lifetime.
More like sisters, really.

Our lives have often paralleled.
She knows all the good and bad
and loves me, anyway.

Mr. Lee had a smile plastered on his
face and tears rolled for me.
Here's what was in our anniversary
package.

Thank you Boland family.  We love
you back.

Song of Solomon

I have found the one
whom my soul loves.

Song of Solomon 3:4

In almost everything I am a late bloomer and
a fighter.  Not backing down unless I am
beaten down. My brother, Joe, will attest,
in my younger days I would go from 0 to 60
in a split second.  Not in my defense but in
the defense of others.  My friend, Birte, would
advise, "Revenge is a dish best served cold."
She is much wiser than I.

In love it was the same.  Finally, I listened
to my soul and not my fickle heart. Married
the one my soul loved.

I am, once again,  recovering from
oral surgery.  And yet again, my beloved
is at my side.  Medicating me, feeding me, and
doting.

Let the whispers of the world be quiet.
Pray and listen to your soul's desire.

By the way, I added a button for my
Pintrest posts.  There you may find
windows to my soul.  Enjoy.

Wrestling

Found this little doozing on Pintrest:

I wrestle because I wish to be loved.

Mr. Lee, Jacob and wrestler.

Girls can do anything.

Could it be?  All we do, good or bad,
is because we need love.  Could it be?
A hug could change lives?

The Bad Girls of the Bible  Liz Curtis Higgs

When Mark, my oldest, was little, I learned bad attention
was better than no attention. I poured on the good attention
thick.   I betcha more love would keep some of
our kids away from drugs and gangs.

Happy Daddy's Day

I cannot think of any need
in childhood as strong
as the need for a
father's protection.

-Sigmund Frued

From the age of 17, I had
a deep biological calling
to be a mother.
Louder than any  rational
comprehensive thought.

Not so for Mr. Lee.
He had a deep respect
for the institution of
marriage and parenthood
without the yearning of size 13
Doc Martin stumping steal toed
boots ringing in his heart and
brain.

When fatherhood came, it came
with me, and the ready made family
of  two boys.  The rest, as they say,
is history.

Happy Father's Day super DAD.

Answering the Call

Have you ever felt an overwhelming
sensation about being in the right place?
Doing what you were born to do?
Being in complete communion with God.

Answering a call so deep and so LOUD.
A thumping of the heart.
A yearning of the SOUL.

That feeling washed over me last night.
Goosebumps.  Chills.
Like falling in love.
Being in love.

Rehearsal night, 22 young adults.
Young, beautiful and chatty with jitters.

Full of hope and promise.
Sweetness of a Groom and his beautiful Bride.

Driving home, the overwhelming joy brought
me to tears.
Thank you, Lord, for calling me.
Thank you for allowing me the privilege
of honoring you and celebrating your glory.

Amen.

Tomorrow

Tomorrow is my second son's birthday.

Twenty-two years ago, my water breaks
while I load the dishwasher.
Dancing to Chuck Barry's Twist Again.

A baby arriving a full month too early.
