Southern California Quilt Run

Whatcha doing for the weekend, they ask?
The Quilt Run, confused looks, then I explain.
The Get-Along has been doing the run for years.
We are all creatives, crafters  - of all types
are, for the most part, a welcoming group,
along the way there are all kinds of fresh
ideas, decorating loveliness, restaurants and
thrift stores in the surrounding areas.

Here's a sampling:

 The Quilter's Faire

Ceiling

Monica's Quilt and Bead

Quilter's Cocoon

Isn't this a great idea,  the Pumpkin Cottage is seeking a wine
bottle holder at the thrift stores we visit.

Never Never to Late

Oh my gosh.  We woke up this morning to music.
Mr. Lee decided to add to his over 3,500 song Ipod
music collection.  We all get into it.

The kids selected from the HairSpray sound
track.  I picked a Jake Owen's song and Mr. Lee
select alternative rock sounds.  My preference is to
male voices and his is to the female variety.
Roadtrip mixes.

Then, I bounced over to Susan Branch's
blog.  And, drum roll please, the piece de resistance,
bump over to Minding the Workplace, my favorite anti-bullying
blog, for a link to Huffington's post on 50 over 50.

Then Uncle Joe sends me an invite to
Advanced Style Documentary.

Monday Monday

It Is Well With My Soul

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say,

It is well, it is well, with my soul.
It is well, with my soul,
It is well, with my soul,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.

Horatio G. Spafford 1873

Treasures found during the
Southern California Quilt Run.

Felt art.

Geraniums whether in art or in the garden are perennial
favorites.

Our family's favorite fabric. The Ghastlies
The Quilter's Cocoon will have kits available
to complete the quilt below.
For contact information see their link under "Ghastlies."
The shop will also offer a class to complete Mrs. Ghastlie.

Don't you think the border fabric would make a lovely
old fashioned dress?
