It's all in the Details

Are you like me, do you notice the details?
Like the tea cozy, on the fabulously acted
BBC sitcom Vicious.  Marvelously acted and
styled.

Happy National Pancake Day I learned about  from Susan Branch.
Do you notice the details in books,
Jan Karon's Somewhere Safe with Somebody Good.
   He wouldn't say anything now,
but he was thinking of the rose garden for the wedding.
June, of course. The low stone wall, and they would need
an arch.  Seven Sisters would be the perfect climber.

Seven Sisters found at the Antique Rose Emporium.

Do you study the book shelves on blogs?
Oh yes, I do because the company
we keep in books tells us a lot about ourselves
and others.
Like here from Coco Rose Diaries.

I have all but Miss Dahl on my library shelf.

Exiting the Toxic

Clear the air.
Toxic environments take their toll.
Turn the tide.

Time to seek miracles.
Set time aside to create.
Touch a bit of dirt everyday.
Sing on the way to work.
Laugh all the way home.

Plan for a miracle.

Ash Wednesday

Beginning today.  Day ONE.
Forty-days to a new beginning.
Forty-days to Easter.

Everything is changing.
I have a list.
Goals to complete in the next 40-days.

Answer Your Call

His divine power has given us everything we
need for a godly life through our
knowledge of him who called us by
his own glory and goodness.
                                                     2 Peter 1:3

Searching for containers for
terrariums.  Don't you think these
would make lovely birthday and
mother's day gifts?

Fear is a Big FAT Liar

Hold your ground.
Don't be afraid.
Fear's power is fabricated.

The best thing I ever did was to
have four children.
She is number 4.
It took courage to start over.
Courage is its own reward.

Love, it isn't about you

Love is about allowing the cup to
runneth over.
Be vulnerable.
Be open.
Make it about your Valentine.

Sunday Musings

My childhood parish seemed to
always be open.  You could pray
in silence, light a candle or retrieve
holy water.  My beloved parish
was conveniently
located across the street from
my childhood home.

Today we drove to our local parish
only to find all doors locked.
Apparently, a sign of the times.

No matter He speaks to me
at all times. Loud and clear.
Parish or no parish.

Esther 4:13-14
International Standard Version

13 Mordecai told them to reply to Esther,
"Don't suppose that because you are in the palace,
you will escape any more than the other Jewish people.
14. Indeed, if you are silent at this time,
relief and deliverance will come to
the Jewish people from another place,
but you and your father's family will perish.
Who knows but that you were brought
to the kingdom for a time like this?"

and then this:

Live the life you imagined.

Weeks in Darkness

God does not have problems,
only plans.
Corrie ten Boom, The Hiding Place

This morning I thought of Corrie's
story, of her courage and love
of Jesus.

I thought of my favorite Bible verse.

Be thankful in all circumstances,
for this is God's will for you who
belong to Christ Jesus.

1 Thessalonians 5:18

February Hello

The year is moving too quickly.
The red, white and pink month
of love is upon us.

The quilt below commemorates
the 150th anniversary of California's
State Parks.  I recognized this location
right off, Pigeon Point Light Station,
Pescadero, California.  Just south of
where I was blessed to grow up.

Among my favorite flowers are
geraniums.
